The best business show that you're not watching.

While I try and limit my time wasters such as television, I do indulge in a show now and then. One of my favorite shows is a show called The Profit. It's about Marcus Lemonis, a venture capitalist that invests in struggling businesses to help turn them around and make a profit. He has a lot of great advice that seems very basic, but is something that a lot of people do not think about.

The particular episode that I am watching now is a company that makes key lime pies out in Key West. They sell over $1.4 million in product, but do not make a profit. None of their products are made in-house, and they have a separate building for shipment and retail. Marcus invests $450,000 in order to resolve their debt and consolidate their business into one building, as well as create their own recipes.

While these are fairly simple, and some might argue common sense changes, a lot of struggling business owners do not see it this way. The reason that I love this show so much is that it provides solid advice and is something that anyone can learn something new from. Maybe your business needs a simple change in order to help increase profits. Keep in mind Marcus Lemonis' motto of "people, product, and process", and check this show out, while entertaining, you might just learn something new.
