My leadership revelation!

It has been about four years since I began having some significant leadership experience, and there is one major aspect that I have learned. Great leaders truly care about their people and always put them first. I have had great leaders and I have had poor leaders, this has been the main difference between the two.

I had one supervisor that always preached about how he always strive to take care of his people, but when it came to putting himself out there for it, he ran. I have seen situations where one of his guys needed someone to step up and provide support, but there was a risk that the supervisor might not be looked favorably upon afterward, so he did not step up, and left his guy to fend for himself. We should always strive to take care of our people when they need us, if not, then you are not their leader.
